Community Voices Heard During Consolidated Plan Public Meeting

Community Meeting

More than 100 people gathered at Central City Neighborhood Partners on May 22 to voice their opinions on the Community Investment For Families Department’s Five-Year 2023-2027 Consolidated Plan. The plan outlines goals for federal resources to fund affordable housing development, create shelters for homeless persons, provide financial help for small business owners, and pay for services for the City’s most vulnerable populations.

Community input is a critical part of the planning process, and this marked the second session of community meetings that CIFD hosted - following a pair in February. CIFD also facilitated a virtual meeting on May 23.

Families shared their challenges and concerns with staff, and all feedback will be included in the report sent to the City Council and added to the Consolidated Plan.
