CIFD joined the July 14 ribbon-cutting at the newly improved Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA, after more than six months of construction and collaboration between the YMCA, CIFD, and the California Natural Resources Agency.
The project was funded in part by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and state funds, which supported the upgrading of community rooms, offices, and restrooms.
The facility will serve more than 2,000 people per year, many of which are youth from
Boyle Heights, Lincoln Heights, East LA and beyond.
