It’s a free and safe way for individuals and families to keep more of their hard-earned money through programs such as the Cal EITC, Federal EITC, and Young Child Tax Credit. 

File with confidence at a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site with IRS-certified volunteers who provide free basic income tax return preparation and electronic filing. Persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their tax returns are encouraged to participate.

  • If married, both taxpayers must be present. 
  • Photo ID for yourself and spouse
  • Social Security card and/or ITIN Number for ALL family members
  • All W2 forms, 1099 forms, etc. 
  • Copy of prior year tax return
  • Information regarding your wages or cash income/expenses
  • Tuition fees and expense (form 1098T)
  • Total paid to day care provider and their ID number
  • Prof of foreign status if applying for ITIN
  • Bank Account and routing number for Direct Deposit
